Many students struggle with deciding on a major or career path. At Monterey Peninsula College's Career & Transfer Resource Center, we have many resources available to assist you in making this big decision.  

MPC counselors teach career exploration courses every semester - COUN 71: Career Assessment and Exploration. This course is a great opportunity for students to gain a better understanding of who they are, what they would like to do , and explore the multitude of options available.

  • eureka.org: Career information for parents, students, educators and job seekers. Contact the Career Transfer Resource Center at careertransfer@mpc.edu for your access code.

  • Planning your Future (from UC Berkeley)This robust website at UC Berkeley provides valuable information for any student on all the "pieces" involved in choosing a major, career and/or continued education.
  • College Factual:  Review descriptions of many common majors to learn what they are all about! 
  • 16personalities.com: Great free personality assessment. Be sure to not overthink your answers, go with your initial gut instinct when answering, and stay away from neutral answers whenever possible.. If you would like a full Myers Briggs assessment, enroll in PERS 71: Foundations of Career Choice. Your $40 material fee pays for the Myers Briggs and Strong Interest Inventory assessments.
