In this densely packed course, students explore the diverse array of techniques, procedures, and ethical issues involved in the investigation of crime.
Using hands-on exercises, students focus on:
- Organizing the investigative process
- Crime scene searches
- Interviewing and interrogating witnesses and suspects
- Surveillance
- Sources of information
- Utility of evidence
- Scientific analysis of evidence; and
- The role of the investigator in the trial process
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Melanie Rogers earned her Associate’s Degree in Administration of Justice, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. She has served as DA Investigator, search/rescue, and as a SWAT team member.
