Each year, the Umoja Community partners with other groups on campus incluing the BSU and AAFSA, to sponsor a series of activities including cultural field trips, university visits, Umoja sponsored conferences and events, and opportunities for deeper understanding of African American culture and experiences.  A sample of planned activities include:

  • Umoja Remixer: Walking into the Village - January
  • Day of Service - January
  • Black History Month events - February
  • Movie Night - March
  • A2MEND Summit - March
  • Black Student Success Week - April 
  • Juneteenth Celebration - June

    Get Information from Umoja right on your phone!  You can receive push and/or text notifications to your phone.  

    Push notifications for smartphone users: open your web browser and go to rmd.at/mpcumoja.  Follow the instructions to sign up for Remind.  You will be prompted to download the mobile app.

    Need Cash for College?

    Attend a scholarship workshop and get the information and guidance you need to apply for one or more of the numerous scholarships offered to MPC students through the MPC Foundation! This workshop will provide you with useful strategies and helpful tips to help you complete this application process and help you get the money you need for college!

    Numerous ways to attend the workshop, in person or online through Zoom!

    When? December 4, 2024 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm

    Scholarship assistance is available by emailing scholarships@mpc.edu or calling 831-646-4842. One-on-one appointments (Zoom or in person) are available to discuss scholarship applications by emailing or calling to request an appointment between December 1 and February 28.
