Each year, the Umoja Community partners with other groups on campus incluing the BSU and AAFSA, to sponsor a series of activities including cultural field trips, university visits, Umoja sponsored conferences and events, and opportunities for deeper understanding of African American culture and experiences.  A sample of planned activities include:

  • Umoja Remixer: Walking into the Village - January
  • Day of Service - January
  • Black History Month events - February
  • Movie Night - March
  • A2MEND Summit - March
  • Black Student Success Week - April 
  • Juneteenth Celebration - June

    Get Information from Umoja right on your phone!  You can receive push and/or text notifications to your phone.  

    Push notifications for smartphone users: open your web browser and go to rmd.at/mpcumoja.  Follow the instructions to sign up for Remind.  You will be prompted to download the mobile app.

    Drop-in and Hands-on Scholarship Workshop

    Drop-in workshop and hands-on assistance to make sure you are ready to apply for one or more of the numerous scholarships offered to MPC students through the MPC Foundation! Students can drop-in to get questions answered and will have opportunities to log into the scholarship application for hand-on support
