Fred Espenak, a retired NASA astrophycist from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, is presenting a talk on the solar eclipse, happening August 21, 2017.  For the first time since 1979, a total eclipse will be visible from the contiguous United Stated, cuttying a shadown diagonally from Oregon to South Carolina.  Here in the bay area, we will probably see a partial eclipse, but it should still be spectacular.  Espenak will give tips on how to capture video and images of the event.  If you have an interest in astronomy, you should check out this free event.
