Sponsored by MPC's Black Student Union

Christopher Siders is a poet, spoken work instructor, music producer, audio engineer and radio host from Los Angeles, CA

Siders recently graduated from California State University Monterey Bay with a B.A. in Human Communications with a concentration on Social Action and Creative Writing.

During his time at CSUMB, he became involved in various projects fighting for gender equality; attempting to open doors of conversation regarding feminism. His ventures in activism led him to become part of the MENding Monologues production for the past five years in different positions as a Director, Writing Workshop Consultant, and cast member. He began his work with MENding in 2011 as a freshman.

His activism also allowed him to become part of the Title IX Task Force as well as start a feminist column entitled, "Memoirs Of A Male Feminist" through CSUMB’s biweekly student newspaper, the Otter Realm, during the 2014-2015 academic year.

In his last year as an undergraduate student, he managed to self-publish his first book entitled, "Born In The World Of" and donate 45 percent of the book's earnings to an after school program called "Youth N.O.W" in Watsonville.

Siders and his friend, Janice Bonello, have also worked with the inmates of Soledad Correctional Facility in hopes of creating awareness surrounding the social construct of Patriarchy and its negative effects on individuals.

Siders is also part of Los Angeles based Hip Hop group, Shadows Of Society, as a music producer and engineer.
